Joey Hess
PA
Joey Hess III is a nationally certified physician assistant specializing in general surgery for Indiana Surgical Associates. He graduated at the top of his class with a degree in physician assistant studies from Valparaiso University in 2022 and was inducted into the Pi Alpha honor society. Joey joined Indiana Surgical Associates in 2023 and closely collaborates with our surgeons at Franciscan Health Michigan City. He is a member of the American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants, The American Academy of Physician Associates, and the Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants. Joey has been certified as a first assistant for the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System. He has also received his certificate from the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants.

Anastacia Mesina
PA
Anastacia Mesina graduated from the accelerated physician assistant program at Valparaiso University in 2020. During her clinical year of PA school, she completed her general surgery rotation with our surgeons at Franciscan hospital in Michigan City. She joined Indiana Surgical Associates in August 2021. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants/Associates and Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants. She received her certificate of da Vinci Technology Training as a First Assistant in December 2022. Anastacia has experience in general and bariatric surgery. She primarily works with our surgeons at Methodist Hospital in Merrillville.
